The first half of our school year has flown by and I've been involved in many tech related lessons and projects with the Peter Woodbury teachers.  However, I'd like to share what we've done with Digital Citizenship so far. Every student in grades 1-4 have had two lessons on digital citizenship so far this school year. Third and fourth graders focused on digital etiquette, responsibility and digital footprint.  First and second graders had lessons on internet, being safe when online, and personal information. Students participate in these lessons in order to understand who a digital citizen is, what behavior is expected when working online, and their responsibilities to themselves, family/friends, and the community when they are online.  The discussions we have are not about social media or cell phone use because most elementary school students do not use these items.  Instead, we focus on what students at this age are doing online (in school and at home). Welcome to Peter Woodbury's Technology Information Corner.  I'd like to take a minute to introduce myself.  My name is Nicole Cassamassino and I am the technology integration teacher at PWS. My responsibilities range from troubleshooting to student lessons to teacher professional development. I have been in this position since 2010.
